Includes your engineer and all studio equipment, apart from two specialist microphones listed below. Your hourly rate is set by the total length of your booking, and every hour of the booking is charged at that rate — the bands are not charged separately. The longer the session, the cheaper every hour becomes.

Your engineer needs 30 to 60 minutes to prepare the room, microphones and session before recording can start.
On bookings of three hours or more, that time is absorbed into the rate. There is nothing extra to pay.

Mastering is a flat fee per song and includes up to three rounds of revisions. If the third round still is not right, that version becomes the final master. In practice we will usually keep working with you until you are happy — the limit is there so a project cannot run on indefinitely, not because we are counting rounds.
Some work cannot be priced by the hour honestly, because the scope decides the cost. We quote these individually and you will have a fixed figure before we start: Dolby Atmos mixing, music production, podcast and audiobook production, sound design, and full video production including corporate video.

If you have not worked with us before, we will offer you a free 30-minute, in-person, obligation-free consultation at the studio before you book. Come and see the room, talk through what you are making, and decide in your own time.
Sessions run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by appointment — including nights and weekends at no extra charge, which matters if you are working around a job. Free street parking is available nearby but can be limited; one on-site space can be arranged when you book.
At Crash Symphony a three-hour music recording session is $462 including GST, which works out to $154 an hour with your engineer and all studio equipment included. Longer bookings drop to as low as $110 an hour.
Yes. The price covers your engineer, the room and all studio equipment, with one exception — the Sony C-800G and Wagner U47w carry a $33 per hour charge. Everything else is included.
Only on bookings under three hours, and only if you want to start recording straight away. Setup takes your engineer 30 to 60 minutes. On a short booking you can either let that happen inside your session at no extra cost, or pay $60.50 inc GST to have everything ready beforehand. Yes, and it applies to the whole booking rather than just the later hours. A seven-hour session is charged at $132 an hour for all seven hours, not $154 for the first three.
